HUD, Phone & Menus
What's on your screen, the phone, the pause menu and the menus you'll use most.
The HUD
The Baye uses its own custom HUD. On screen you'll see:
- Circular minimap in the corner, with your street and direction
- Status bars for health, armour, hunger and thirst
- Speedometer and fuel when you're driving
- Notifications in the top right
Keep an eye on hunger and thirst. When they run out you start losing health. See Health & Death.
Pause menu and map
Press Esc for the custom pause menu. From here you can open the full-screen map, change settings and change your Key Bindings (under Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM).
Phone
Press F1 to take out your phone. You use it to:
- Call and text other players (calls use voice)
- Contact emergency services
- Manage your bank and contacts
- Take photos with the camera
- Use the other apps
Save numbers of people you meet. A full contact list is a sign of a well-connected character.
You need to actually have your phone on you. If it's lost or taken, you'll need a new one.
Third eye (interaction)
Most interactions in the city work through the third eye. Hold Left Alt and look at a person, vehicle, door, shop counter or object. If you can interact with it, it highlights and shows a list of options. Click an option to use it.
Use it for shops, job duty points, garages, ATMs, sitting on chairs and much more. If you're not sure how to interact with something, try the third eye first.
Radial menu
Press Z for the radial menu, a quick wheel with context actions such as vehicle options or job actions.
Emotes
Press F3 to open the emote menu, or type /e <name> in chat, for example /e sit. Press X to cancel. You can favourite emotes and set your own keybinds for them inside the menu.
Emotes bring your roleplay to life. Leaning on a wall, drinking a coffee or taking notes makes a scene feel real.
Chat
Press T to open chat. Use Tab to complete a command, ↑ / ↓ for history and Esc to close. L cycles chat between always visible, visible when active, and hidden.
Chat is mainly for commands. Roleplay happens through voice. See Voice & Communication.
